    65. A man was returning from Cootehall about 20 years [ago] and to his great joy a hunt passed by. The riders and horses were beautiful ones and the dogs followed the fox as in a real hunt. He was sure that it was a hunting party from Rockingham or Kilronan until he noticed a horse running on three legs. He hurried home but was so spellbound that he could not reach the door. He called to his people but they did not hear him and he was found lying exhausted outside the door in the morning.
Two men were also returning home when they saw a great feast in progress among the fairies. The fairies invited them to join in the feasting, singing, and dancing and offered them cake and wine. One man was wiser than the other and advised his friend not to eat the food put to put it in his pockets. They would not leave until the cock crew. They made their way home and in the morning found mud and manure in their pockets.
About 10 years ago a woman dressed in the clothes of about 80 years ago called at 2 houses in Cleeheen and enquired about people who had been long since dead. The people were amazed and consulted each other and gossip arose as to whom the visitor could be. It was discovered that she disappeared suddenly and the old people remembered a young girl who had been taken away by the fairies years before and concluded it was she.
