Ar an leathanach seo

  1. A very good poet named Bill Molloy lived in this village of Galmoy about thirty years ago. The boys nicknamed him as Bill Larkin. He lived in the village until about twenty ago when he went to some foreign country and nothing was heard of him since.
    He made many songs and poetry. Many of his songs are still sung. He made a couple of songs about himself and a song about a boy named Patrick Phelan.
    The first verse is ÷
    "My name is Paddy Phelan,
    My age is scarce fourteen,
    I'm working at the doctors convenient
    To Gibeen."
    One day he was coming into Galmoy. A woman came to the half door and began quarrelling with him for making songs about her.
    He immediately said ÷
    "If you had anything to do between the
    Poker and the tongs,
    You would not mind Bill Larkin or
    His Songs.
    Shut the door and keep in your
    Squeelers.
    And don't have them trampling the
    Boads with the peelers."
    Bill Molloy's sister is an Austrian Countess. He was a post-
