    In olden times people had strange customs before, during and after marriages, and celebrated them with different customs to which they do now. When the feast was on a few local boys dressed up in straw to visit the wedding feast and ask for money. The bridegroom gave them some money.
    In every district there was a local matchmaker. When a man wanted to get married he sent for the matchmaker who was then sent to the appointed house. The man takes a long road so that no one would see him. he was sure to be asked to the wedding. When he was seen going a place everyone was looking to see where he was going.
    People who were getting married had no cars, some went on horseback and some walked. The person who was first at the brides house got a bottle
