Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The landlord of this district was Sir Gilbert King.
The family was settled in the district since the time of Cromwell.
He was looked upon as a hard and bad landlord.
When people would not pay the rent he would take the farm from them and they would go to America or England. Some of them used to remain in the bogs and mountains and woods. They would have nothing to work on so that they had to go round begging.
If any man was tilling the land or making too much of himself the landlord would take the land from him and give it to some of his friends. Even though he had the rent paid he would take the land from him and leave him on the road.
Some of the evicted people used to go to the workhouse.
The farms used to be very small as the farmer used to be divide his farm among his sons when they would be getting married.
