The following is a cure used in parts of Sligo. It is a charm to remove the ill-effects of the "Bad Eye."
When a beast is ailing, if it is suspected, that some enemy gave the beast the Bad Eye, this person's name is cut out on paper and burnt under the nose of the beast. Recovery is usually speed.
When there is a doubt as to the name of the evil-doer, all the letters of the alphabet are cut out, so that the initials of the evil-doer cannot escape.
