- The Burkes who lived in Glinsk Castle used to have a great feast on the twenty-ninth of June, the pattern day of Glinsk. All the nobility and peasantry of Connacht used to be invited. The harpers and pipers of the Province used play at the festival and all sorts of games and athletic sports used to be carried on. All the peasantry of the district used to be lavishly entertained.
