- Tom White was cleeving out turf some years ago to a place, where he could fill it in a cart for drawing home. As he crossed a drain, he spied a small man, wearing a knee-breeches, red waistcoat, and a green cap, coming out of a belt of laurel bushes near by. He looked a kind of hard at him and grinned. Before Tom could say a word the little man pulled back again into the bushes.
He went on with his work until he had filled a good heaped crate and he then started for home. When he came to a keash on the cart-way, the pony got into difficulties and Tom was trying to help him out, when, who should make his appearance only the little fellow. This time he was accompanied by a dwarf, who was dressed like himself.(continues on next page)- Collector
