    The girls and women used wear "Báiníní", red flannel shirts, hand knit stockings, and the old women used wear white handkerchiefs on their heads. To Mass, they used wear hand-knit shawls. At that time, bicycles were very rare and it was only the very rich who had them.
    The people, at that time made great use from empty flour-bags. They saved as many as they could of them and then steeped them in boiling water and washing soda, until the brand was washed out. They then dyed them to many bright colours and afterwards they made useful garments from them.
