  1. I got this story from John Mc Loughlin. He is 50 years of age. He lives in Ballybrack to the North West of Moville. This is what he told me. He told me about the Holy Stone that is along the Ballybrack road. Saint Columcille was one day sitting in his little house. He was putting on his shoes. One of the shoes he had on and tied and he had none on the other foot. A chase came on him and he started to run with one shoe on and one off. He ran a long way and he did not look round. When he reached this stone he got up on the top of it to look round So he left the track of his foot on the stone from that day to this day. So the saying is that if you tie one shoe without putting on the other shoe that a chase comes on you.
