They had no place to take refuge so they took off the lock of the door and went in. Next morning when Miss Gardner heard this she ordered her men to cut the roof off the house. Then the poor people knew they had to leave their home so they emigrated to America. There was free emigration at that time.
Miss Gardner had a companion called Miss Pringle. When she died she left her companion all her riches. So Miss Pringle carried on the business(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
