  1. There were many toys made in the homes of the people long ago. Few things were bought in shops.
    Girls used to string flowers together and they used to make strings of flowers from them.
    Tops were in use long ago and are in use even to the present day. They were made from legs of chairs.
    Cradles are used for trapping birds. Seed is put in the cradle to entice the bird to go into it.
    Snares are used for catching hare and rabbits. The wire is bought in the shops for the snares. People used the same wire long ago as today.
    Kites are used to the present day. Gus are made from elder trees. Birds used to be caught by night with
