    the master would get clover and give it to the boys to scatter around on the place they had the rye or wheat or oats or barely before that. They would not dig it at all for this, They would leave it as it was.
    There would be great hay the next year then. The boys would cut it and bring it to the master's house. They sowed nothing again after that.The master had retired and there was another master in his place and he had not the same rules and it made things different and the older boys that used to do those things
