There was another man named Fitzgerald who lived in Castlebar who cheered for the French when they came to Ireland. He got a reprieve from Dublin and Denis Brown had the reprieve in his pocket and yet he hung him. When he was hanging him the rope broke and he got another rope and it broke again.
