  1. The people long ago lived on very plain wholesome food. Their chief food consisted of potatoes and buttermilk and stir-about
    They used to boil the potatoes in a pot a when the would be boiled they would spread them out on a basket to cool.
    Most of the people of those days used to have the potatoes for their breakfast as would also the children before they would go to school.
    Tea was a very rare thing in those days also. They wouldnt have it except at Christmas Times and a few other days in the year. Not many eggs were
