Their chief food consisted of potatoes and buttermilk and stir-aboutThey used to boil the potatoes in a pot a when the would be boiled they would spread them out on a basket to cool.Most of the people of those days used to have the potatoes for their breakfast as would also the children before they would go to school.Tea was a very rare thing in those days also.
