  1. There is a story told about St. Bridget. When she was growing up. She got her freedom from slavery and She was with her father. She would give to the poor always when they would asks her. Her father heard that She was giving all his wealth to the poor. Her father took in the chariot to the King of Leinster to sell her as a slave. He left her in the chariot while he was talking to the king. A poor man came and asked her for something and She look around the chariot and the only thing She saw there was her father's sword She gave her father's sword to the poor man. Her father came back and found his sword gone and he was very angry. When the king heard what happened he would not buy her. he said She is not mine to buy nor yours to sell as she belonged to the Lord and so she escaped from slavery.
