    visited. Coakley is one of our well known travellers.
    Tinkers come from the back lanes in Bantry and Skibereen. About twenty years ago the travellers used to sleep in a house for a night or two. They used to get potatoes, meal, and eggs, and when their bags were full they sold the contents. They travel in donkey carts, and pony carts.

  2. Often during the year travelling people visit this part of the country. The travellers that visit this district the oftenest are Coffeys, Driscolls, Prices, and Sullivans. They come at different times during the year and camp on the side of the rad. They sell small things to the people and some times they get money and eggs. They generally sell tongs, laces, safety pins, campher, and sometimes little holy pictures.
    Long ago when travelling people used to go around they got lodging from the people for a night or two, but now they make their own little camp on the side of
