  1. Songs Composed about Places Around my District (continued)

The Barrel Rocks:- Come all you jolly mariners give ear into my song,

    (continued from previous page)
We have no return signal from the land
    Sir Roger sadly said
No comrades here to welcome us.
    Alas they must be dead.
ut I must do my duty
This day I mean to land
So in a boat he pulled away
    To lonely Banna Strand.
A German ship was sailing in
    With rifles galore
Saying, Here you are a fore
    Youare he Empire's enemy
We will fight you now so stand
For a German boat shall never be put
    On the lonely Banna Strand.
    We sailed to Queenstown Harbour
Say the Germans we are done
    The British ship our master
Man for man and gun for gun
    With thirty thousand rifles
And none of them left land
We'll dump them all and bid farewell
    To lonely Banna strand.
