  1. When seagulls come inland it is a sign of bad weather abroad. If the sea is rough in calm weather it is a sign of a distant storm.
    Seals coming into shallow water foreshadows bad weather.
    The Stormy Petrel bird when seen tells of an approaching storm.
    Fast moving black clouds also indicate storm a head
    The rooks become erratic in their flight when rain is approaching
    Certain flowers such as buttercups close their petals when rain is coming
    If the wind veers against the sun rain will follow
    A very smooth sea betokens rain.
    A halo round the moon is a sign of rain
    A rosy sunset forecasts good weather
    Swallows flying high is a good weather forecast, if low a bad weather forecast.
