Be friend these few verses I mean to compose.
While here I endeavour to set forth the praise.
Of a huntsman so famous the nation well knows.
All round Kilatoher this hero was noted.
James Smith that brave sportsman and pride of the land.
His high flying courser, she's highly reputed.
    For fame undisputed
    Gained on Lavey strand.
At sweet Killinkere, she was unparalleled there
And st Ballyjamesduff, she did darken their eyes.
At Lavey and Cavan and Ballanagh races
And at Derrensbridge she obtained every prize.
Mc Kernans and Gaffneys, she lightened their purses
The Reillys will curse her for gaining such fame.
Through sweet Kilatoher long years may she flourish
To banter these eagers and bring them to shame.
The speed of this racer deserves admiration
With vicious patience she glides o'r the plane
Like ancient Fadacious or [?] speed of Pyrnasses
At every encounter she always did gain.
