  1. (continued from previous page)
    The chapel bells kept ringing,
And the air of music singing
    And the joyful tidings hinging
    That Fr John came home.
    Each house illumanated,
    Had bands decorated
    With bands and banners
    Through Crosserlough did roam
    His promise he fullfilled
And gain school houses did build
    In selecting teachers skill
    In learning golden rules
    Through his whole parish round
There is nothing but pleasure found
He spent many a hundred pound
To comfort the child at school.
    Three cheers for Fr Boylan
He's the pride of Erin's Isle.
    He did his duty faithful
    In the parish of Crosserlough.
