    The old forge of Scrabby is marked..

    was used for fire in many of his critical jobs.
    He made a gate for the old church - a massive one in 1837 It is a combination of half inch iron and very good mortar. The standards are of course solid three inch iron The cross vars however are not of solid iron but are a marvel of construction for a plain village smith.

    His smitthy is now a private house but out in front of it in the road you can trace the wheel shoeing stand. It barely peep through the road surface like this
