give it to pigs and they fatten very quickly.
Cattle are let out on fields. Every Winter's day they are given hay and turnips or mangolds and pollard. They are fattened during the Winter and are sold the following Spring.

The cow-house is called a diary of cows. Cows are tied by the legs if they were kicking. the people hangs a little branch of palm in the cow-house to bring luck on the cows. When driving cows people say "Ho ho"
Horses are clipped in Winter.

Churning

Long ago and in some places yet there was a churn used called the dash churn...

Long ago and in some places yet there was a churn used called the dash churn. Reaves has one. It is like a barrel and about 3-1/2 ft high. There is a lid that fits down on it and a hole in the middle of it.
Before they churn they give it a thorough rinsing with boiling water. When the churn cools they throw in the cream and then puts in the dash and runs the
