As I roved out one morning fair in the blooming month of May
The sun's bright beams did shine as through Oulart I did stray
And as I strolled along the road not thinking any harm oh!
An armed guard I did espy says I "those boys must be in haste
They must be on road-duty oh!"
If a pig or ass they chance to meet the owner will pay the booty oh!
