  1. People in olden times used to have three meals a day ; breakfast, dinner and supper.
    They used to have their meals in the morning at midday and at night.
    People used to work for two or three hours in the morning before having any food.
    They used to eat porridge and milk for their breakfast and also for their supper and potatoes and milk for their dinner. Potatoes were only eaten at dinner time.
    Milk was drunk very often both buttermilk and new milk.
    The people used to sit at the table near the wall long ago. The table was never hung up against the wall. Oaten-meal bread was eaten in olden times.
    It was made with oaten meal and salt and mixed with water, then put on to a griddle to cook for half an hour and then taken up.
