  1. The most harmful weed on our land is the dock ; it is very harmful, because it spreads rapidly and it also impoverishes the soil. Thistles, and buachallain (rag weed) grow in good land.
Rushes, chick-weed, blacktops, and flaggers or wild iris all grow in poor land.
Nettles, dandelions, ragweed hart's-tongue ferns, and daisies have medicinal properties.
Roots of daisies are used in the making of ointment, hart's-tongue-ferns are used for burns.
Dandelions are used for making ointments and medicines.
Nettles are used for curing sciatica, by boiling the nettles, then straining the water off them and drinking it.
