Just as the young monk and the soldiers had the treasure buried and started to flee from the Danes, some of the Danish army saw them and chased them. The chase ended in the death of the monk and the soldiers.
   So there are two bogs in Duleek, one on the Commons and the other the bog of Thomastown, it is not known in which the treasure is buried but as they is no record of the valuables having been found it is quite certain to believe that they are there still.
