  1. The leipreachan is called a Luirrighan in my district. There is a story told of a man who was going home late one night, and he heard a noise in a fort which he passed on his way home and on the second night he heard it again, and before he reached home that night he got a pain in his leg from which he died a month after.
There is another story told of a man who was minding potatoes in a field after the famine when a Lurrighan came up to him, and said "Follow me, and do not take your eyes off me and I will make a rich man of you." So the man followed him until they came near a castle, there he heard noise like a bull coming after him, he looked back, and the minute he took his eyes off him he disappeared.
