I heard this story from Pierce Phelan Priestown.

There was a man living in Kyle one time and he used to rob things every night. One night he went out robbing sheep on Knocura hill and when he caught one of them he put a rope around her neck and went off with her. He had to go over a high wall on his way home and as he was going out over the wall he jumped down and the sheep pulled and would not come over. The man was found dead hanging over the wall in the morning. He is supposed to have been buried at the Cross
