    The fighting now is over,
    Our thanks to God are great,
    And to the Irish Saints, who heard our prayers,
    For Ireland's Free State.

    God bless our noble Volunteers,
    Who fought with heart and hand,
    Against the English Tyranny,
    To free our native land.
    III
    Through woods and groves they followed them,
    And in prison they were bound,
    But now Thank God, they are free to walk,
    On their own dear Irish ground.
    IV
    They suffered long in silence,
    Their spirits more the brave,
    They would gain for Ireland freedom,
    Or they would lie beneath the grave.

    May freedoms sun for ever shine,
    On our brave young Volunteers,
    Who gained for Ireland freedom,
