  1. Local Cures
In olden times, people cured their ailments with cures made from herbs.
These are a few old cures.
A cure for yellow jaundice is, to boil dandelion flowers in milk, then strain the milk and give it to the patient.
Boiled nettles are a cure for ringworm.
To smoke a pipe or cigarette is a cure for a toothache.
Cobwebs used to be put to fresh cuts to stop the bleeding, but the people of the present day know better than to do this, for the cobwebs stop the bleeding but they are very dusty and then this dust gets into the cut and makes it fester.
A ferret's leavings such as milk is a cure for whooping cough. The milk is given to the patient in tea or as a drink.
