    A True Story
    There was an old man working at the bride of Portumna but his home was at Birr.
    Every Saturday night he used to walk home to Birr, and one Saturday night as he was passing Killeen wood a few miles from Birr, a man stepped out from the side of the road and walked beside him step for step.
    The stranger never spoke although the man spoke to him several times. The stranger went with him as far as the man's own house, but as soon as the door opened he disappeared.
    The man fell into the house in a faint. When he recovered a little, his people sent for the priest.
    He told his story to the priest who told him he had no doubt it was his Guardian Angel.
    The priest then questioned the man as to whether he met with anything after the stranger's joining him that might have harmed him
