  1. My Home District
    My home district is Lorrha. It is in the Townland of Grange, in the Parish of Lorrha, and in the Barony of Lower Ormond.
    The number of families in the townland consists of eight and the approximate number of people is thirty-five. There are only two old inhabitants, but they do not know Irish.
    In former years the houses were more numerous, there were about fifty houses in the townland, but the Landlords evicted the people from the houses, and let out their little patches of land into grazing parks.
    There are several of the old ruins still to be seen. Most of the people emigrated to America. The land is hilly and good. There is a large beech and oak wood growing
