    The O'Gradys and the Rockbarton Horde
    Sometime before the coming of Cromwell to Ireland ~ 1649 ~ there lived in the house presently occupied by the Hartigan family near Rockbarton Fire Cover in the townland of Rahin, Holy Cross Kilmallock a woman named Mrs. Hayes who had two daughters.
    The said Mrs. Hayes evidently “wore the breeches” for mention is scarcely ever made of her husband, who seems to have been an idle worthless fellow.
