  1. The Hoar Hound
    Long ago the people of this locality used the 'hoar hound' as a cure for cough. The 'hoar hound' is a plant like a nettle but it has no sting. When pulled out of hte ground it is cut into pieces and boiled in spring water. Sugar is then added to make it sweet. When it is well boiled, it is taken off the fire and strained and the juice is drank every morning before breakfast by the person suffering from the cough.

    Milk left after a ferret is supposed to cure the whooping cough
    Ivy Leaf
    The juice of an ivy leaf mised wiht bees wax and unsalted lard is the best cure for a burn
    Holy wells
