    Long long ago there lived a man named Fineen Mac Carthy and his wife and children.

    Long long ago there lived a man named Fineen Mac Carthy and his wife and children. They were very poor. They lived in a place called ''The Lepercaun's Glen''. At the back of their house the Lepercaun could be seen very often mending old boots. Fineen wife was very jealous of her rich neighbours.
    One day she commanded Fineen to go out and catch hold of the Lepercaun and make him lead you to a place where a crock of gold can be found. Fineen went out and did as his wife desired. The Lepercaun showed him where the gold could be found.
    He dug a found a crock of gold, and as he was going away the Lepercaun said to him ''Fineen Mac Carthy promise me here, and now that you will never again interfere with the Lepercaun's, or the Lepercaun's Glen'' Fineen did so. When he reached home his wife was very pleased.
    She send her children off to College in Dublin, and built a new house. She called it her
