- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Cromwell's troops in 1645. It is now a large ruin with a square tower attached to it. In the ruins there is a fine monument to Sir James Cotter, he was commander of the Catholic forces of Munster in 1690. Here also is buried his son, James Cotter, who was hanged in Cork during the Penal DaysAn Irish leader named Kirwan was buried in the ruined Church in his armour in 1645. He was killed in a battle at "Mile Bush" midways between Carrigtwohill and Midleton. There are also remains of an old Church in Templecuraheen about a mile from Carrigtwohill.
