    There was a hedge school in Meenagisagh, Gneeveguilla Co. Kerry. Daniel Hurley was the teacher. He had sixty three pupils attending school - boys and girls. There was a hedge school at Park in the farm of Patrick Breen. The teacher was Timothy Cronin. The pupils used trees and planks to sit on. The language taught was English. Quills of geese were used as pens. The first book
