  2. There was a hedge-school at Meenagisagh, Gneeveguilla Co. Kerry. The teacher who taught there was Daniel Hurley. The attendance was sixty-three pupils - boys and girls. There was also a hedge-school at Park, Knocknagree in the farm of Patrick Breen. The teacher there was Timothy Cronin. Trees and planks were used as seats. The language taught was English but Irish was also spoken. The subjects taught were:- Grammar, Sums,
