  1. In olden times bread made from frost bitten potatoes was made. When the potatoes got frost bitten they were put into a pit and earthed. They were left there for some time and then taken out, peeled and broken up and mixed with salt and water and baked in a pot-oven. This cake was not a bit nice to eat as it was very sodden.
