  1. There is a ruin about 20 yards from the village of Gowran called the Abbey. It was built many years ago. It was the Catholic Church in Gowran namely St Marys & Cromwell knocked it down when he came. The ruins are still to be seen.
    In the ruins there is an altar but none of the writing is plain enough to be seen.
    There are two slabs of Ogham kept inside.
