  1. My grandmother has a cat called Bunny, a dog Mansy, an ass, Bobby, a pony called Polly, Kitty the cow, & Tiny & Chance two pet hens.
    When setting eggs people make the sign of the cross with pencil or with soot on the eggs. They put them in a fairly deep box of straw & then put on the hen. The box is put in a dark corner & lastly they sprinkle the hen & eggs with holy water.
