  1. At one time Henry Davis lived in a little low house at the bottom of Brandon Hill about one mile distant from the town of Graignamanagh. He was very fond of playing cards, and after his days work he used to come to play cards to a little house in High Street belonging to Foleys. It was always a great house for a card school. The way Henry used to go home was up Coolroe Hill and then across the fields.
    This night as he was returning home from his card-school he heard noise, something like crying. When he came to where he heard the noise a woman stepped from beside the ditch and she crying
