    stopping in Knockatallon Hall, they saw a big black dog coming up the room. Then it stood looking at them. One man said, "We will fire at it." The rest of them said, "It is the devil and we will not fire at it." Then it disappeared. It was never seen any more.
    One night when my Grandfather was coming home from a fair with cattle, he saw a man walking by his side. He beat the cattle and made them go twice as quickly. My Grandfather was trying to get away in front of him but he couldn't. He was going to hit him with his stick.
