Sligo Ballina main road was made about the year 1885. It was made of stone. The people used to carry the stones to it in bags on their backs. They used to work hard every day at it and for their wages they used to get Indian meal.
Before this road was made the people used to go to Sligo on the road that runs by the Moy. Very few people go on it now because because there are big hills or it and it is hard to carry heavy loads on it. The Enniscrone road runs from Ballina to Enniscrone. This road is a steam-rolled road.
The Castleconnor road runs from the Sligo road to the road along the Mor. It is only a bye-road. The Sligo also called the Fly road because lots of car lorries and carts run on it. There is a path running from Donan's gate on the Castleconner road down to the Protestant Church and the owner of the land can not stop anyone from going on it.
