    1
On the last day of December in the year of '91
A two masted scooner from Africa sailed on.
She ploughed the sea for upwards of forty days or more,
Till she met with a disappointment, quite close to Brandon shore.
    2
The captain and his six men did all they could afford,
Trying to keep from danger while they were on board,
When they saw her going to the latter end they struggled manfully,
They had to take the life boat and top the raging sea.
    3
Soon they were not gone far when they met a dreadful shock.
When the six men went to the gravel and herself made off a rock.
