  1. David Godley my father's grand father made a song about a Hobby Horse. It ran like this. "Come to the west boys, come along with me. Come to the west and our hobby you will see.
    She is a lily in the summer.
    She is a lily in the spring.
    She is the lily still in winter, when the small birds cease to sing!
    Our first visit was to Pat Kenny, in the mountain of Glenlea: Situated at the Point convenient to the sea.
    He brought us to his parlour and treated us quite soon.
    We gave him that grand chorus, called "The Rising of the Moon".
    Next to O'Connell in Kerry head estate.
    He kindly received us and did us accommodate.
    He brought us to his parlour and gave us punch go leór; But alas! poor John Regan was left trembling at the door.
    The day being far advanced we all thought of home.
