James Beirne was set astray on Furnace Hill. Michael Gilrane was set astray going to sports in Drumshanbo in 1926 and 1927. He could hear the band playing and still he could not reach Drumshanbo. The first one he met was Lackey McKeown Mohercrieve as he was ashamed to ask him. He could still hear the band. and later he met a man driving cattle. He asked him where he was and was told he was beside Keshcorrigan. He never knew where he was till he came to the brink of the town and the man with the cattle had to coax him on. James Gunning was set astray in Drumsherriff. He roared and no one heard him till Frank Carroll heard him in his barn house. He came and brought him home.
