That's why that hill on the Roscommon side of the Shannon between Carrick and the railway station is today called the Liberty and because of the hanging the workhouse hill got the name Gallows Hill.
   Nesbett was a Cromwellian and OReilly was a protestant-Irish - and a good master. He [held?] in lands rent-free.
