- There was a man at one time and his name was Jim Gunter. As he was coming out from Loughrea one evening in the month of May after sunset he saw a gay mare and foal grazing where the seven springs is now. He made a grab and caught hold of the foal and brought him home. Next day as he was passing down the same road a little red man came out to him where he caught the foal and he said to him. "You made a great job of bringing the foal yesterday evening" and he (sail) said that he did. Then the red man told him not to let him out of the stable for a year and a day or if he did he would go where he would never see him again.
