    brought out the horse to the races. In the first course he doubled the other horse but when he went to the top of the hill in Knockbarn he lifted his head and saw the lake. He whinnied and he went in seven springs from the hill to where he was caught and went into the lake and killed the (right-hand side) jockey. This is a small lake on the right-hand side of the road as you go in to Loughrea. This is not Loughrea lake. From that day to this it is called the seven springs.
